Yay! I am back from the CNM camp!
The CNM camp was highly informative and useful! My OGLs proclaimed the camp " basically somewhere for you to bombard the seniors with questions" and did we do that!
The seniors spent most of their waking hours fielding questions on the CORS system, how the whole bidding for the modules thing works, giving those freshies who are taking the QET tips and advice on surviving it, in between giving us insights into university life.
Their intention to arm us with knowledge they think we freshmen should have before we start school is really honourable and I think to most of us freshmen, their efforts are very much appreciated
(though there is this is one regret that I have, which is that I didnt get to thank the seniors whom I spoke with personally - it just didnt seem cool to say thanks when you are both in the midst of bbq-ing the hotdogs)
As compared to the Arts and the NUSSU camps, which is more of a networking and pre-orientation kind of thing, I suspect some of the campers are quite dissapointed with this milder and less happening camp.
You can tell who are the ones who have attended theose two camps before. 1. They know their way around the campus, and can answer all those "how many LTs are there in AS1 " questions. 2. They know all the faculty/camp/house cheers since 1991-2007. 3. When they see each other, they squeal and go "OMG, weren't you in the ____ Camp 07! OMG, you stalker!!"
Okay, not that I really hate them or what, it is just that I feel it is kinda insensitive to adopt a kind of "I-attended-all-the-camps-so-I-am-superior!" attitude lar. But anyway, the rest of the human population over there is pretty much likeable still.
Oh but I digress. Back to the seniors. They even invited this over-achieving senior to come back and share his success story with us! He actually spent most of his time "nagging" us to be focused and studious actually, but he did it in such a entertaining manner, we didnt really mind. And I am really inspired by what he says!
Btw, Aaron, I am sorry for not raising my hand to say that I am that teeny bit inspired to plan to do well in school! *sobs* I am sorry!
One thing is for sure though, with all these info bombardment, I think all of us walked away feeling more wary and stressed about the bidding for the modules thing (which is this shitty thing you have to do if you go to NUS). Even though the intentions behind this is good, but wah lau, it is like playing the freaking stock market like that lar! Siao eh!
Which is why I am very grateful to seniors for being so willing to share all this information with us, as well as to Aaron, for his repeated reminders for us to attend lectures and tutorials. He is basically saying what the teachers has been saying all along, we are on our own now and we have to be disciplined.
So I am glad that I have this camp to arm me with a lot of the knowledge I would need to know, and for providing me with a vision and a focus to start my new life with.
Haha, I know, I am getting all serious and stuff but anyway, I was on a winning mahjong streak in camp! Oh man, if not for the fact that I had to go home onthe second night I am sure I would have played on straight throughout the night. My like-minded kakis were like so determined to win back the money. -__-
Ah, my Cartoon KAT-TUN vid has finished loading. Later!

I am
Giving an imaginary kiss to each of the leaves falling (a luxury only winds can afford) from somewhere up in the sky (or so it feels) so high the trees have grown to.
Trying to memorise every shade of red, brown and gold and even hues of the green, if available cause it is rare to see the colour that speaks of fresh-faced innocence, and sometimes ignorance so far into the year For by autumn, most leaves would have grown and have shed their gullible shades to don more striking ones so intent they are, on winning this pointless pageant of beauty.
From my throne bed made of leaves I have begun updating the secret maps that I made out of clouds in the sky Maps that lead you to everywhere, and everywhere else if you know how to read them
(For clouds are highly mobile creatures that travel far and wide and if you dont update frequently enough, you might get lost if you use the Cloud Maps and sure enough, by mid noon to walk to New York based on Cloud Map#268, I would have to make a detour because Tom-the-raspberry-shaped cloud caught a ride from John-the-west-Alabama wind and has headed south and Cloud Map#1465 has to be re-drawn entirely, spoiling my plans to swim to the Amazon jungle this evening at around 73.89pm)
trying to prepare to leave.
